What a success!

It was a great deal of fun as over 250 people piled into the Bloor Cinema out of the rain. As they watched the slide show, featuring many of the auction items, people would come up to the volunteers and ask "Where are the ATM's again?"
We had a fair number of new people but it was also clear that it doesn't matter how often you see Serenity. It bears up under many viewings.

We are still counting up the money but it looks as though we did as well as last year.
Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and donors and sponsors. And to everyone who came out to support Equality Now. You all rock!
A final tally and pictures will follow!

How fortunate are we? And you? Toronto's Can't Stop The Serenity is being sent a original mini poster of the North American movie poster. But this one is signed by Joss himself.

We are opening up our auction with this because it is so shiny.
Remember. All this goes to Equality Now. It is a very worthwhile cause.

We look forward to seeing you.

We know that many of Joss' fans appreciate anything he does. That's why we have some Buffy items to auction, and why we have this - a picture of Dichen Lachman who plays Sierra in Dolllhouse.

More Auction Items
A Reaver ship - better looking than a Reaver but not by much. You know you've been meaning to get one- this is the perfect opportunity. And just below it - Serenity in disguise.

And do we have Tshirts! They are piled high here and will be spread wide at the screening - giving you a chance to get one of these high quality T's made for us by Geek2Chic.

We just got this wonderful donation. A set of Dragonball cards, signed by James Marsters himself.

Click the picture to see any of these in greater detail.

Remember, everything is cash only. There is a CIBC ATM at the corner of Bathurst and Bloor and a TD ATM on the north side of Bloor just west of Bathurst & Bloor.

It's Ron Glass's turn!
We tried to figure out a way to include that wonderful laugh of his and we almost did. The Done the Impossible People have donated a CD of the music in their Firefly Fan documentary. It doesn't include Ron's laugh but it might inspire you to go watch the documentary again. And hear Ron laugh. and laugh and laugh.
But that's not all. We also have 2 items autographed by Ron. One is this gorgeous picture from the movie.

Then there is this familiar comic again, signed by Ron Glass. Toronto's Can't Stop the Serenity scores again!

More auction items and a special bit of fun.

Are you planning on coming in costume? Or perhaps you just want to remember you were there. We will have a set up upstairs where you can have the standard "4 poses for $1.00" just like in the old photobooths.Be silly, be thoughtful, be whatever you want. And thanks to Four Poses Photography, all the money will go to Equality Now.

You will recognize this woman, I'm sure! Pixel Barrel, one of our sponsors has donated this Inara statue for the auction. I bet you know right where you'll put it when you've won it!

What would a Toronto Can't Stop The Serenity be without the generosity of Greg Edmonson who has once again donated a signed CD of the music he created for Firefly. This evocative music brings Firefly to life.

One of the Big Ones
A picture is truly worth a thousand words. A glass etching based upon one of the promotional posters. And yes, that is the signature you think it is.

Sticking with Buffy for the moment in our pictures of fabulous auction items or door prizes, take a look at these!

Angel Palz!

The orb of Thesulah!
Dr. Horrible was a great success!

Thanks to everyone who came out and sang and bought stuff and supported Equality Now with your presence. We had 70 people attend and thanks to Geek2Chic and Pixel Barrel there was an Evil Laugh contest with Tshirts as prizes! I'll put up pictures as soon as we have them. And now on to the Main event!

We've got so many good items for the auction, we're going to have to start mentioning a lot of them at once. After all, the showing of Serenity is only 2 1/2 weeks away!
and yes, there is still so much more!

Attention Buffy Fans!
Have you been reading  Buffy Season 8, the  Comic book series? If so, you will remember the cute little Vampire kitties from one issue. One of our talented people made a little stuffed kitten that looks just like the real thing. That alone would be reason enough to bid on it in the auction. But if you will look closely at the back of its head, you will note a familiar signature.

Yes indeed, this is a one of a kind Joss Whedon signed vampire kitty.

This picture shows you the front, the back and an image from the comic so you can see what a great likeness it is.
This will be one of the  many items we are auctioning off at Toronto's Can't Stop The Serenity screening, with all proceeds going to Equality Now.
The auction will be cash only.
